I commend you Mich residents for being loyal and defending your state parks. I guess that's why most of the license plates we saw were Mich. and not overcharged non-residents. Our Illinois parks have plenty to critisize also I guess so I won't defend them. One of you challenged my statement that we paid $32 for a site. But, my wife's math is solid. If we started with the non-resident fee and added the non-resident annual pass(averaged out for the 8 nights we were in Mich parks) it was 32 at least in 1 of the parks. Also, I am comparing with other states, especially in the south and southwest where we use a lot of state parks in winter. Maybe the mosquitos soured my attitude.
