- Dennis12ExplorerMt. Rushmore was great. Signs everywhere no pets. I have a dog and was not going to let it in the motor home so I took it and nobody said anything. If they would have i was prepared to tell them it was a service dog.
- Dennis12ExplorerCrazy Horse is a joke. 1 family carving it and only 2 of the family working on week ends. Wait 150 years and then go. Tried to charge us 30 dollars to go in and spend money in their shops and look at a incomplete carving. (barely started on the carving) They said if we wanted to just drive in and look at crazy horse and come right back out there was no charge. This was 7-4-2018. Definitely pencil in the Badlands, a must see.
- missourijanExplorerWe just left that area last week. We stayed at Southern Hills RV park in Hermosa, which was a great location for visiting all the attractions and not be in a real busy area.

X2 - KavoomExplorerWe like Big Pine Campground in Custer or Bluebell in the park...if you can get in.
The Black Hills is a surprisingly small overall area jam packed with things to do. You can pretty much get anywhere in about an hour or so. Depending upon how many days you have, go hit the badlands or even Devils Tower. Each is two thirds of a day trip. There is also wind cave. You HAVE to go through the wildlife loop and take some of the dirt roads within. And musts are Iron Mountain Rd. and Needles highway. The Alpine Inn German Restaurant in Hill City is really good. The wineries are fun. Of course if this is your first time, you will feel obliged to see Rushmore and Crazy Horse so there goes a day. A drive down Spearfish Canyon is fun, stop at the Lodge sit by the creek with a glass of wine. You can bring the dogs. We have land for retirement in the area. As you can see, we love it and go every year once or twice. - wildtoadExplorer IIThere is also, just for an alternative, a KOA with plenty of things for kids to do, onsite restaurant, and more.
- PadlinExplorerWe checked out the whole area, Sturgis, Deadwood, Mt Rushmore, etc, from Blue Bell CG in Custer SP, worked fine for us.
