Must see and do things near straits state park

We will be camping for 9 days at straits state park in Michigan. What are the must see and do things near here? We have 2 dogs so this limits us somewhat on the amount of time we can leave the camper,...

Really? It's the one and only toll road in the state of Michigan! For $4 I'll take it all day long....
