Myrtle Beach State park thoughts.

Anyone who has camped at myrtle beach state park have any thoughts or opinions of the campground and park itself? we have a spot reserved for march 9th and 10th. Not interested in myrtle beach itself been there done that. Hoping for good weather. Just the wife and i plus 4 little dogs. we enjoy the more laid back less amenities type camping.

That's the only thing I remember, never again.

Now see, that would be a plus for me :)

We stayed there. It's like a 6.5 out of 10 on my scale. There's nothing particularly bad about the park, but we didn't find it outstanding in any aspect either. The beach is nice I suppose. If I found myself in the area, I would go back, but as mentioned above, it's a long drive from I95.

  • MB state park is great. Nice beach and pier. Easy enough to get to 95.
decent sized sites. well managed. I give it a solid 8-9 rating.
  • We did Ocean Lakes just south of the SP. From the north we came down US17. When we left going south, we picked up US501 through Conway to I-95. It was an easy ride.
  • My wife and I stayed there for a night (or 2) a few years ago. The campground itself was nice enough. It is a long slow ride from 95, whether coming from the north or south, that we wouldn't go back there for that reason alone. We were on some roads that seemed not much wider than my motorhome, although that could have been my fault from using google maps, instead of an RV specific GPS, or a motor carrier's road atlas, both of which I now have.
