I agree with the OP. My Geezer pass is such a deal, that we "loose it" every other year and buy a new one. The way we look at it is that our National Parks have given more to us over our lifetimes than we could ever return. We have left the bulk of our estate to the Rocky Mountain Conservancy to promote education in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Myself, I don't have enough to leave an estate to anyone and was happy to purchase a $10 lifetime senior pass the very day I turned 62.
