My wife gets hers free as she is permanently disabled and we have permanent handicapped plates on all our vehicles. However, I had to pay $10 for mine!
Considering the horrendous amount of taxes we've paid over the last 40 years before retiring with owning a business etc and doing well, they should pay me the $10 to accept mine free also! Yes, we still contribute a lot of $$$ each year to the National Park System happily but that is voluntary and something we like and want to do. Some people are takers and some are givers!
