I have not read this whole thing but will say this about the Senior Pass.
Best deal in the world. We lived in Estes Park at the time at I was at the gate of Rocky Mtn NP at 8am (when they opened) on my qualifying birthday. They used to be paper and were free. Then went to $10 which I gladly paid.
Not sure where all those $10 go but thing they go in the big pop in Washington, DC for the Parks (hopefully).
I do not feel badly at all about it being $10. Why? Because we drop money in the donation boxes at all the Parks, etc, we go to. And that money stays right with them - not off the DC.
I can assure you they get much more money from me this way and it goes to the places I go.
