nc outer banks campgrounds
Planning summer trip to outer banks and looking for some suggestions from fellow travels who have visited the campgrounds in the area. Any info appreciated.

We stayed at Ocean Waves and thought it was the best of the choices in Rodanthe. All of the private campgrounds pack the campers in pretty tight. The KOA and Camp Hatteras almost looked like they used to be drive-in movie parking. No trees, no shade, gravel or sand roads/surfaces. But you go for the seashore, not the campgrounds. If/when we go back we'll stay at Ocean Waves again.
