Need a south Florida RV site for January

I'm looking for a RV site in south Florida that is near the beach for the month of January. I've found several rentals but they all want to rent for a 3 month minimum. We are interested in the Jensen Beach area or Fort Myers area. How is the best way to find a site?

I've used www.vrbo.com several times to rent condos but I've never seen RV sites on there.

As far as the campgrounds, it might be that at this time of the year, they won't reserve anything less than 3 months but as you get closer they might. Unfortunately, I don't know of any better way than simply calling them.

In Fort Myers, we usually stay at Gulf Waters RV Resort http://www.gulfwatersrv.com/rental_purchases.html. Their website says that for Feb, there's a two month minimum but they don't appear to have any restrictions for January. That said, I know that it's hard to get reservations there in January.

Thanks, I had looked at Gulf Waters but they have a 40 lb weight limit on pets. Our Golden Retriever is a bit over 40 lbs.

Unfortunately, that might limit your options a lot. I'd call a few places and see how firm they are on the weight limit and then work from that.

    Good luck.

  • That's like trying to rent a campsite for just 1 night in the middle of a 3 day weekend. You might have more luck in the state or county parks. They frequently have limitations on length of stay so the sites will turn over more frequently. On the flip side, they don't have as many amenities, other than nature.
