Both statements are true. Though sites 30-35 in Unicoi's Laurel Ridge section are not so bad for the longer rigs and Unicoi's roads can be navigated by bigger rigs - BTDT.

Not to hijack the OP's post, but for those of you who have been to Unicoi, I've heard it is tight spots, and narrow roads to get in. But, when I go to the site, they talk about 40 ft spots. So, is it a tight fit, or are roads easily navigable, and decent size spots?
Also, looks like the only way to check if there are spots available is via phone. Trying to make reservations on the website, it takes me to cabin/room reservations only.

It is tight, too tight for us in a 40 footer and quite steep as well. Also take Black Rock Mtn SP off the list if you have a rig much bigger than a pop up. Very narrow and very steep. In Mountain City just north of the CLayton on US441
