Need Advise on Heading South for the Winter from NW Iowa

1st Winter that we are both retired and are going to head south right after Christmas. Leaving from NW Iowa and need some advise on where to go and routes to take. We are in a 5th wheeler and prefer...

Port Aransas and Corpus Christi are also good places to fish.
If retired military check out Corpus Christi Naval Air Station (CCNAS)for Shields Park, their RV park.
