Starting to use our RV for more than tailgating! We are looking for any suggestions from Maryland to Florida that are close to town, restaurants, attractions. We can do walking distance or places that have shuttles, etc. since we won't have a car. We also need pet friendly for our well behaved 20lb dog. She is used to boat life, so shouldn't be a problem. Any suggestions appreciated! Oh and we are around 50 but don't mind families! Thanks!

KOA in Pigeon Forge, TN. It's right next to the trolley that goes from Gatlinburg to Sevierville.. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and Patriot Park is right there.

Need suggestions for east coast campgrounds close to towns!

Unless you bring all supplies with you, this is NOT the place to stay without a toad. You must drive to get anywhere! About 15 miles back toward town for a grocery store.

Just a suggestion but if you're going to do some serious traveling you NEED a toad. Much more convenient than taking shuttles when you have to be on their schedule, not yours.

Exceptions would be DC, NYC. There is no readily available parking.

IMHO DC and Pigeon Forge are east coast towns even though they aren't east coast beach towns.

Try Hunting Island State Park. Its not real close to town but worth the stay. Beaufort (you go through here to get to Hunting Island) is worth the trip with nice restaurants and shopping if you want that.

Good time to go cause the kids are back in school.

Frontiertown in Ocean City MD. There is a shuttle bus into downtown OC.
