We entered NM on Sunday, June 26 from Texas at US-60 in Clovis. Our destination is Arizona (Show Low) for the next couple months.Taking our time, were arrived at an RV park between Belen and Socorro on Wednesday, July 1. Thursday afternoon after a trip to take pictures of closed gates at local attractions, I was told the new emergency order issued by the Governor of New Mexico required effective July 1, requires out of state visitors to self-quarantine for 14 days.This applies for anyone who stops for a night in NM. The park owner offered me a 'special rate' for two weeks.We left NM and hurried to AZ.Anyone else heard about this, have experience?We can cross NM on I-10 without stopping if necessary on our return, though a fuel stop at Lordsburg would be nice. Or if necessary, go north through Colorado. If things don't change/ get worse.

Arriving in Show Low, Arizona has no quarantine restrictions for visitors.The only required locations for masks from statewide orders are the airports at Phoenix and Tucson.Masks were very prevalent at a fuel stop in Show Low, and some people on the street in Springer and Show Low, but almost none in the campground when we arrived. Except the staff.NM news media reports a shortage of hospital beds, and emphasizes that new data strongly suggests that the virus is spreading along the interstate highways, carried from state to state by visitors.

Be careful and safe in Slow Low. While not Maricopa county and others the main reason AZ is now the national hot spot per capita is the lack of restrictions from the state etc.

New Mexico order is to self isolate if you enter the state. Includes all forms of travel. No need to avoid the state, you will not be held for 2 weeks. But, the first two weeks that you are here, you are expected to stay away from others. Stopping for fuel while travelling through is not going to get you placed in custody and your vehicle impounded. And New Mexico orders do not extend beyond state lines. So, because NM expects you to self isolate while here, once you leave the state, we could care less.

Can't blame New Mexico for their restrictions. They got burned early on and had to completely shut down Gallup for a couple of weeks. The Navajo populations has been devastated adding to the NM misery. Still they are doing far better than most of the neighboring states and there is a reason for that... they clamped down early and have held firm. I wish my home state of Arizona had done the same as we are now one of the major hotspots nationwide.

NM is still pretty strict with masks, and stay home 'recommendations'. Casino has been closed for months, gyms too, and strict limits on number of customers in stores. To enter any medical facility you'll be masked, your temperature taken and seated at least 6' apart. The reservations had curfews months ago since they were getting hammered. Yeah, a big pita, but so far we're doing ok.

The last map I saw showed the 4 corners region getting an uptick in cases, and I wonder if that's 'spillage' from NE AZ.

This is very concerning to us as we are thinking about leaving for a trip to get away from it all in a couple of weeks. Although we plan to stay quite a bit east of there, we still have this fear of being quarantined for 14 days crossing a state or two.
Where would be the best place to find this info, as things seem to change daily. Any special site?

Your best bet is to look up each state's travel restrictions as you get closer to your trip. They can and DO change on a daily basis. There is really no one site that is updated for all states, real time. That's why checking each individual state's official website will be your most reliable source of income.

You especially don't want to rely on a social or "unofficial" website for timely, correct, and relevant info.

There are lots of discussions right now on some of the FB RV groups I follow where people are asking "how is the trip from X to Y state? Did you have any quarantine issues?". The responses are primarily from people who traveled into state Y weeks ago, and usually not from state X, nor a route through intermediate states when one might have to overnight (and run into issues).
