In two extended trips to New Mexico, we have taken advantage of NM's great annual pass and have visited a number of state parks. Here are pictures and notes:
Bluewater Lake SP
Bottomless Lakes SP
Caballo Lake SP
City of Rocks SP
Coyote Creek SP
Elephant Butte Lake SP
Heron Lake SP
Leasburg Dam SP
Navajo Lake SP
Pancho Villa SP
Rockhound SP
Santa Rosa Lake SP
Sumner Lake SP
Ute Lake SP
Villanueva SP
Not a state park, Valley of Fires Recreation Area is a fascinating BLM spot. It was one of our favorite spots in NM.
Here is an article on our 2011 trip to NM, with pictures and notes.
We went back in 2013 for more exploration.
Take your time and enjoy a beautiful state.
