We have only been rv'ing since 2007, but have never been asked to move on.
Heck, one WalMart we pulled into at about 10pm to shop, as we got stopped and ready to go in the security guard drove up in his golf cart.
He wanted to let us know that the area up around to the side was much more level and that is where all of the rv'ers stayed. I explained we were just shopping and would be back on the road in a little while. Right nice of him.
I had a security guard AND the police meet me in the parking lot of a Walmart. Told me I could NOT come in with my MH because they had a "NO overnight parking restriction".
All I wanted to do was come in park and grocery shop and explained I was NOT staying overnight. They still said I could not come in with the MH. Tried to explain again that I was only parking to shop and leave. They still said I could not park in the lot because of the no overnight parking rule. I felt like I was trapped in 'who's on first'?....Stupid is as stupid does.:R:R
To the OP: sounds like a great idea but most of those places are in strip malls and most likely would have a no overnight parking restriction which is a city ordinance not determined by the tenants of the strip mall. Not to mention what those fitness places charge you to walk in the door to use their facilities.
