new place to boondock?

24 hr fitness center
might be less busy than the walmart parking lot

it is NOT boon docking

it IS parking lot dry camp "over nighting"

I have never thought of overnighting at one of these places, but if you are a Silver Sneakers member(65 or older) these places are all over the country and free of charge. Some require registration first to get a card to get in after dark. I have used Anytime fitness in Fla and Az, YMCA's and a few others. All of the ones that I have used are not in cities and are convenient to use when traveling. I have only used the tow car to get to them and I have noticed only parking for cars but can't see why if you get there later why you can't stay overnight unless there is a sign or town ordinance.

Tried to explain again that I was only parking to shop and leave. They still said I could not park in the lot because of the no overnight parking rule. I felt like I was trapped in 'who's on first'?....Stupid is as stupid does.:R:R

To the OP: sounds like a great idea but most of those places are in strip malls and most likely would have a no overnight parking restriction which is a city ordinance not determined by the tenants of the strip mall. Not to mention what those fitness places charge you to walk in the door to use their facilities.

I read often people making claims about enforcement, but I have had a very different opinion. Maybe I just boondock and drycamp in better places to avoid rousting.

Has anyone here been ticketed for drycamping and or boondocking? There is a distinct difference in being told to move on, than be ticketed.

Don't the fitness places charge a fee for facilities access and use? If they charge a fee, does this fit the definition of "boondocking"?
