New York City Area

We are going to Maine and want to stop in New York City for a couple of days to look around and go to a Yankee game. Any suggestions for a campground that we could leave our Class A, catch a train or something into the city for the day and return. Thanks

  • Rhinebeck NY Interlake Rv Park.....it's about 1.5 HR drive to NYC.....it's a real nice park, Rhinebeck is a beautiful area....the problem is the closer you get to NYC the more crowded the parks become, Rhinebeck IMO is just far enough and still beautiful in its own right...also Rhincliff the next town over has train direct to Penn Station.

We have stayed at Newburg KOA in the past... but it's about 60 miles north of the city. I think they do arrange for transportation if you request.

Also have heard about Liberty Harbor... but haven't stayed there
