newbie bug out place to live

Very few states still have homesteading active. Adverse possession is also unlikely. There aint no free land, apparently.

I prefer to stay on public access sites and hide myself among the hunters, fishermen, bikers, hikers etc that use those sites. We have city parks, county parks, state parks, as well as travelers rest site which predate the interstates and still remain open.
Rural Park n Ride lots are like stepping into wilderness. Public access sites for fishermen only needs a fishing license to give you reason to be there. Do not try drinking around these places, they are well patrolled by folks with no sense of humor.
