What Newport?....Newport Oregon.
If so, Beverly Beach State Park.

Port of Newport is practically across the street. South Beach is only a couple of miles away

Oops so sorry I meant Newport Kentucky across river from Cincinnati.

Winton Woods is your closest park. Google and call for reservations. Nice park. There are several in Ky., but nut very close.

Steamboat Bend Campground on the river isn't bad

Little Farm on the River in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. is off interstate 275. Maybe half hour or so from the aquarium.

Little Farm is nice, but I think that is more like 45 minutes away.

I thought Steamboat was only for seasonal camping??? Winton is probably your best bet.Big Bone State Park is nice, but again about 45 minutes. If you have time and enjoy zoos, Cincinnati is one of the best in the US.

Steamboat Bend is seasonal with W,E and dump station. No host on site. I agree with Ky. Joe. Winton Woods County Park is your best bet.
And Newport on the Levee , has much to offer besides the aquarium, including nice restaurants, bookstores, shopping, underground parking garage, etc. It also has a tremendous view of the Ohio Riverfront.
