Been quite a few years since we've headed south down the coast. Am I going to need OR SP reservations next late March/early April? Might go as far south as Crescent City or beyond to Patrick's Pt. SP in N. CA. I ask because anymore I always attempt reservations in WA SP's.
Reservations are a must for Oregon and Calf. along the coasts. In Oregon the weekends tend to be full from local Oregon RVers. This can limit the number of days available for reservations if you want to stay a week or so. A friend lives in Oregon and tells me that many Oregon RVers start making coast reservations almost a year in advance. Personally I use private RV parks for that reason and that some of the state parks have limited RV sites for larger RV's. My favorite in the Seaside area near Astoria is RV Circle Creek RV Park. 503 738-6070. It makes a great home base from which to explore. Cannyon Beach has 2 RV parks, choose the one located out of town on the east side of hwy. 101. I would make reservations for private RV parks at least 6 months in advance. Reservations can always be cancelled or resheduled, just be aware of the cancellation policy.
