We just spent our first ever 2 months in Southern Florida. We are not impressed. The daily frustrations are too great and definitely not worth the price. Highly doubt we will be in any hurry to be back.
That's O.K.
Florida is not for everyone.
By the way we were not too impressed with South Dakota, when we were there, either.
That's O.K. too.
To each his own, and thankfully there is a lot of variety in this great country. - Shot-N-AzExplorer

Hi. Would you mind elaborating a bit on your post? Where in south FL did you stay, and what sort of frustrations are you referring to? Thanks. - John_JoeyExplorer

Thank you TomG. Pls. oh please save your issues (stuff) - I only wish to zero in on options; is or is there not somewhere - in Fl. or even Az where one can spend winter; i.e. in a safe, clean, interesting Resort with 3 services and under 2k $? bb:@
Really???? You don't think in just a little way that you were thumbing your nose at the others with your OP?
BTW, America needs the tourist money to help us out of our recession. Feel free to spend more then 2K for awhile till we get back on our feet. We can use the help with our economy. - StephJohn2010ExplorerWe just spent our first ever 2 months in Southern Florida. We are not impressed. - BarbaraOKExplorerThere are lots of places in Arizona that will be $200-$300 a month, excluding electricity. All depends upon what you want. In fact, if you like to boondocks, there is a whole desert available for little to nothing.
If we are going to spend several months then I want lots of amenities, I want good restaurants, good shopping, arts centers, museums, etc.
Barb - sarhvac1Explorercheck out this park in New Mexico http://www.hiddenvalleyranchrv.com
this year it was listed at less then 900.00 for 6 months w/ metered electric - pawattExplorerThis is our 10th season in the Mission Texas area, We love it.

Just got note stating the costs to park here in RGV, Tx. for winter of 2014/15. Site reserved for 5 1/2 months, minus electric. Question is can a good RV/Resort park in Florida beat $1,950 (minus electric??
This is for a booking from Nov 01. to April 15, 2014. Don't think so!
I am sure there are a lot of us that would look twice at a good South Florida RV park at under $400/month. I could not find one in three winters trying. South Texas has many that meet the criteria.
That all depends if your MUST have is to stay on the coast right on the waters edge, or 'need' to stay in a resort park, no, you won't find one for that price.
Florida is a BIG state and all but the upper most of it has the SAME warm winter weather as south Florida. Need to be in a resort right on the beach yup you will be paying the big bucks$.
Need just a nice CG in Florida to escape the brutal winters of the North.....YES you can find a plethora of CG's around $400.00 and some VERY nice ones I might add. I've stayed at several and have been very happy! :C - empty_nestExplorer

The guy asked a simple question, "can a good RV/Resort park in Florida beat $1,950 (minus electric??" and it turns into a Texas bashing session. I hope he gets an answer to his question instead of all the "Mine is better than yours" comments.
It was only a matter of time...........:R
