Actually I exaggerated: it is 31 miles from Fifty Point to Niagara Falls, but I noticed this in the original question:
So that influenced my comments about Fifty Point. For my own part I would definitely go back there again for a visit to Niagara Falls. That is what we have to offer on this forum. Not to tell anyone else what to do, but to offer comments based on our own experience.
Anyway, all this is offered in good faith and in good humor.:)
I don't mind if camping is away from Niagara a little ways either North or South if it is safer than the Niagara area.
