SC, NC, TN, KY, MO and most of the Northern areas of the others you have mentioned have many freezing days as well as nights and several have occasional ice storms and/or snow in much of the state. The areas in these states that would even come close to some of your wants are in the costal areas and the CG fees are far higher than your stated goal. We've been RVing since the mid 1960's and seen a lot of snow and ice from Northern Alabama and inland Northern SC on north where you will usually find what you are looking for. Snowplows? What snowplows? Just wait for it to melt even if it takes a week or more!
True that the snow and/or ice doesn't usually stay on the ground for more than a few days but EVERYTHING simply STOPS in the southern states when it happens. In the early 1990's when at our Southern Florida place and we had to go back home for a family member having only a week at most to live, we hit solid deep ice with only 2 ruts on I-75 from Atlanta north to southern Indiana on I-65 where it was sunny, clear and dry all the way to our home in Michigan. So glad we only came home with the vehicle rather than the MH as we'd not made it and would have been in the ditches etc like the hundreds we saw and the many dozens of wrecks. People down south don't have the foggiest idea how to drive on slippery roads. DUH!
Also, my wife's brother had a custom home design and construction operation in the Greensboro, NC area for over 20 years and we'd vist him on the way down in january several of the years and seen lots of days with snow, slippery roads, and bitter temps/winds there.
One thing I might remind you of is that 40 F in Florida or Southern Alabama etc feels a whole lot colder and raw than 40 F in Michigan! It's a bitter raw bone chilling cold and windy at the same time down there!
I agree. We winter for three months on S.Padre Is,TX.
50* is cold not cheap $800.00 per mo. For three months.
, wind is usually 10-20 mph. But when it is 60* plus it is great.
To each there own.
We like it.
