Here is the most I can get from winegard regarding the sk 7002 refit from shaw to another provider. They are being very ,very careful in what they say and getting this much was like pulling teeth. I imagine there could be a backlash on them by customers that just installed units with the known intent of using them only in the U.S.

The signal is still available and your antenna will still lock to it and work as designed. The new satellite put into service earlier this year does not have coverage here, but the old two satellites are still here and working fine. I can’t speak to what Shaw is doing on the account side of things – that’s their decision.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to convert to other providers at this time.
