- ocean_boundExplorer IIouterbanks of nc is about the only on the beach campgrounds in nc try camp hatters or try myrtly beach area a lot there
- ocean_boundExplorer IIbut mytle beach is in south Carolina if you want to go more south
- NCWriterExplorerHoliday Travel Park on Emerald Isle, NC if you want something closer to the mainland than the Outer Banks. Pricey. Below Cape Lookout. Lots of family activities, restaurants, etc nearby.
Ocean Waves to the north out on the banks is a good value, a bit quieter. - CrabbypattyExplorerWe stayed in Camp Hatteras CG in Waverly a few years ago and it was great. They have two choices, Oceanside or bay. It was tough as the sunsets were awesome, but alas the sound of the ocean was better. My only peeve was at $80 dollars a night they wanted $3 more for cable. I said you should just up the price and include it. Seemed cheap. Anyway after I declined cable, some guy came over in a golf cart and watched me set up my sat dish. Guess he thought i was gonna take him for cable. Other than that stupidity the place was one of the best cgs's I have ever stayed at.
- jplante4Explorer IIWe stayed at the Hatteras KOA in Rodanthe. Right on the beach, typical KOA, although I though the sites were a little close together. Other than that, a beautiful spot.
Free WiFi sux and the nearby cell tower drove all my backup wifi gear offline. If you need internet access, you'll need to go to the cafe.
We rented a car there (no toad) and the closest place was in Kitty Hawk about 45 mins away. You know that tag line in the Enterprise commercials? It's a lie. - NCKZ_CamperExplorerDefinitely check out the HTP Resort at Emerald Isle, we stay there quite often and is our favorite beach rv resort. Reliable 50amp service, exceptionally clean park.
- SkylarkExplorerX2 with Ocean Waves cg. Excellent location with 50 amp and half price of Hatteras. Very accommodating owners.
