Thanks for the explanation Eric. We like Myrtle Beach Travel Park very much. Was there for a week the beginning of April and last year for two weeks as well. Nice park.

You might consider Gulf Shores State Park, Alabama. You can spend the whole winter there not just the typical state park - 2-week time. Beautiful beach, good restaurants and shopping and lots to do in the area. It won't be toasty warm but it's not cold like Ohio. :) The park is huge with big sites and full of snowbirders. It's a fun place.

Don't think I'd make decisions on what "they say" but then I guess you're trying right now to get more of what "they say" regarding NC. Hard to get a spot? Depends where, for how long and how late you try to reserve. From what "they say" to me, there were lots of vacancies in lots of parks this year. Traffic is awful??? Depends where, what time of day, where you're trying to go etc and even then traffic, IMO is not a problem especially when the weather is constantly 80 and sunny.

that why i was asking were would be good to winter or if it was a place you could in a rv. Been research Florida and they say it hard to get a spot and the traffic is awful in the places most snowbirds stay . So was just try to think of other place to go down that way.

Last year it was $2800 tax-in from October 1st to April 1st. Includes water, 50-amp (non-metered), sewer, cable, wifi, plus indoor heated pool.

Didn't bring the trailer this past winter but spent February & March in a two bedroom villa for $1,050/ month.

Our friends here in Montreal spent January in Sarasota Fl in a similar type villa for over $5,000/month.

What kind of seasonal rate do you get from MBTP? Looking at their weekly rates don't make me feel like they would be less expensive than a comparable (amenities-wise but not beach-side) park in Florida.
