Northern California RV parks on the coast

I am looking for an RV park to take the wife and I and our small dog and cat that's on the California Cost north of San Francisco. I want one with full hook ups my Motorhome is 34ft with a slideout. Anyone know what RV parks are out there what they charge and how I can call them?
  • We stayed at the Redwoods KOA in Crescent City, CA...not a huge rv park, but there is a stand of redwoods right there joining the park and it's FHU. Crescent City is on the coast, beautiful scenery, and a lighthouse.

Would probably help if you were a little more specific as to how far north of S.F. The CA coast north of SF covers over 300 miles with numerous RV parks that meet your criteria.
Up to as far as Fort Ross.

Thanks for the timely reply. You've asked about an area I have never visited, that I remember. Looking at my usual sources for finding RV parks with full hookups not too many in that area. A couple around Bodega Bay and one in Olema. Your best bet is to wait for a reply from someone who has visited that stretch of Hwy 1 and has first hand knowledge of where to stay that meets your criteria. I've seen posts in the past for this area so just hang in there for a knowledgeable reply.

Might even try edit on your post heading to be more specific.
  • did anyone read the OP's question?
Petaluma and Redcrest are not on the coast.
and the place in Oregon is not in California and none of the coastal state parks have hookups.

there's a KOA in Manchester. Bodega Bay has a couple of places with hookups.
and Gualala has a couple of private campgrounds with hookups.
  • Look on the internet "Good Sam RV Park". This will give you information on just about every RV park in the whole U.S.
  • Just a warning if you want to visit any CA state parks. The state is trying to make up for their deficit spending largess by upping the ante on State of CA campgrounds and attractions (those that haven't been closed). That way they are not dinging the taxpayers of the state as much but hitting the out-of-towners. Kind of like airport taxes. The more popular the park or attraction the higher the ding. The good news is there are plenty of private RV parks that will take your money. We do a lot of boondocking and dry camping with high bucks hotels interspersed, so we are not affected so much. But we did want to stay at the Redwoods State Park and found the sticker shock to be brow raising, especially for what you got. It was run down and basically loved to death. Of course we have a 20' truck camper and stealth is easy, even in the city. The pic below was a very inexpensive county campground with water and power (and a dump) on the coast in southern Oregon. The beach is through the trees @ 200 yards away:

    Good luck on your search.

  • Ancient Redwoods in Redcrest is a great place for visiting the Giants.
  • Fortress.org lists camp grounds. Petaluma KOA is supposed to be really nice.
