The OP either did no research or put no thought into matching his needs to what the CG had to offer. Now he blames the CG? The nearby KOA is totally flat. But they do have trees, which means they probably have squirrels. There several smallish 'open field' CG's in the area, but I wouldn't recommend them due to traffic noise if nothing else.
I've never stayed at Mama Gerties since it's less than 10 miles from home, but I have driven thru it. The staff at the office was courteous and welcoming, and I can't think of a commercial CG as close to town that's as nice and as natural. 'Natural' seems to be the OP's problem... Mister, 'nature' around these parts includes hills, trees, & squirrels.
