Thanks DS! That is a better list than I have found.
I did find some freebies. I think we will stay one night at the Hall of Fame. I also found a Cracker Barrel that's okay with it, and one Wal-Mart between Goshen & Elkhart. The other WM on the SE side of Goshen says no. That's all I came up with for free camping.
Once we stayed in the visitor tours lot at Jayco in Middlebury. So I guess there are a number of overnight possibilities.
I read the reviews on the fairgrounds in Goshen. I get the impression the trains are pretty hard to deal with. Very close and very frequent.
We will probably use one of the CGs. I found the Elkhart CG is open, has good reviews, and is reasonably well located for our needs.
