Ny state parks after season close

Why not just google New York State Parks?

It won't be free.
Some are open year round. SNOW might be an obstacle...

Try using reserveamerica with your date and just new york as the location. I find a few open year round including Allegany.

I've noticed many of the far north campgrounds open in the winter are geared towards snowmobilers.

My guess is that the parks have a locked gate on the campground access roads.

May rent a rig, maybe Dewolf or state park or eight lake st park

Grass point in Thousand Islands yes but they do not plow road and if you are a PIA they will tell you to leave
Wellesley Island open all year
Jaques Cartier open all year

I would say "Probably Not", but I'm not positive, but then again it might depend on the Park as I believe some say open after the normal camping season, but with limited services.
Best thing would be to call the Park you're interested in and ask.
