NYS-Whetstone Gulf State Park
Looking for site numbers from those that have camped there. I like a private site, not near playground if there is one. Any other recommendations for quiet spots in other state parks also welcomed! ...

Stayed there quite a few years ago - I remember that the swings were down by the swimming area(river is dammed up to make a swimming area)and not in the camping area.
From what I remember - - Sites 3-18 were the easiest to get into. Sites 44,45,47 have trees and field behind them. Many of the other sites are in the trees (23-26) or back up to the trees (45-55).
Looking at the picture of your rig it will be easy to get into to most sites.
The gorge trail is quite the hike - allot of up hill but worth the walk.
