- genexgeneExplorerHave stayed at Oakwood 3 different times. 2 days twice and 3 days one time.
As far as I am concerned it is a very nice park with all of the people that work there very helpful and friendly. The park is far enpugh off the highways to be quiet. They do have a pool but have never used it. The laundry and restrooms are clean and well maintained.
The park location is a short drive to Heb food store, plenty of nice places to eat, and downtown shopping. Walmart is not real far either.
I will go back and if needed would not mind spending a month or longer there - Jay_PatExplorerTell them you want a wide space.
Not the narrow ones in front.
In the narrow ones, your neighbors slide will extend over your patio.....
Your slide will extend over the other neighbor.
Also, you awning may not extend all the way out.
Pat - RugExplorer IIWe have stayed here one time.
Nice place,nice people.
This park is very tight.
The sites are very small.

X2 - padredwNomadThis is one place where we prefer the KOA; which is several miles east of town--actually at the turn-off to go to Lukenbach. We did stay one time in Oakwood because a friend planned to meet us there. It was not one of our favorite experiences.
But that's just our one experience. Much may have changed in the years since then.
For sure, there are several good choices and Fredericksburg IS one of our favorite places to visit. - Texas_Roadrunn1ExplorerWe have stayed at the Oakwood Park, Ladybird, and KOA. KOA is our favorite, next Ladybird, and last, Oakwood. Sites are too tight.
- CerevisaphileExplorerthanks for all the helpful replies... Oakwoods seems to be off the table due to size of the lots. I been looking at the Fredericksburg RV park and the KOA now... Ladybird looks nice but they dont do monthly rentals from april to september.
I also checked the Verizon coverage map for the area and from the looks of it I should be ok using my droid phone as a hotspot ( in case the campground wifi does not work well) - BonefishExplorerWe stayed at the KOA, friendly owners, just make sure to get a large lot, ours was not much room between campers. It was fine for the 4 days we stayed. I did like they had a fenced dog area and no problem using the Wi-Fi either.
