Dunno if it was driving too fast or simply excessive operator head space, but the 1st time I came onto the temporary bridge, there was a northbound minivan off the road right at the north end. Talk about stuck! It was at about a 30 degree angle to the road, both front wheels in the sand, and dug in to about the center of the wheels. Back end was still on the pavement. There was a NCDOT guy directing traffic, a ranger talking to a distraught-looking woman, and a guy digging around the front end. Good reminder that the sand is _soft_!
