Can anyone recommend an ocean front campground with in a days drive of Indiana? Looking for ideas for our next trip..

I'll second Assateague Island National Seashore. Just a smidge over 700 miles from Indy. The way to do this is leave one evening and stay the night at Cabelas in Wheeling WV then the rest of the way the next day and you'll be there by early afternoon. You can literally camp right on the beach and the wild horses are an added bonus.
