Ocoee River - Video

Nope. No licensed guide required. Just take your canoe, kayak, or raft with you, pop it in the river and away you go. The rafting companies are required to have trained guides in their boats but individual boaters can float as they please. We had two deaths within a week on the Ocoee last year, both were raft customers. Water was unusually high.lizzie

Never been whitewater rafting, keep saying I'm gonna try it but I'd need to do it with someone with experience and probably on a less acitve waterway.

About 15 years ago while in Atlanta for a long weekend, a group of us drove up and rafted there. It was the opening of their season, cold as heck, and we had a blast!
