Oregon coast camping

I'm planning a trip down the Oregon coast in July and I'm looking for a really nice campground as close to the ocean as possible to spend a few days. I was originally thinking Cape Lookout but it's already all booked up, so now I'm considering Nehalem Bay State Park. We aren't planning on going to far south. Anyways I'd love to hear any suggestions any of you might have on some great campgrounds along the coast. Thanks a lot!
  • If your looking for campsite right on the beach then Beachside State Recreational Park is likely your best bet ... beach was right outside my door. But it's a small facility and likely fully booked up already for July (I use it in off season). I tend to prefer Beverly Beach - it's very large and a convenient walk to the beach. We tend to select sites away from the beach which means your away from the highway and its quieter - we don't mind the additional walk.

We enjoyed Beverley Beach near Newport, a short walk under the bridge will take you to a drop dead beautiful beach. It is very central allowing an easy afternoon drive to Cannon Beach or the dunes at Florence. You have already run into the big problem, making reservations. You may already be too late.

Beverley beach does look really nice and there are a few RV sites available. And suggestion on where the best parts of the campground are? Thanks!

Been there many times you want b1-22 or c1-11 campground is long and narrow and the sites in the back are a long hike to the beach

Netarts Bay RV park. While its a private park the views from the sites up front atr really great. Cape Lookout is really wooded and no views. Salmon harbor at Winchester Bay is another place with outstanding views.

At Netarts we love the seals on the sand in the middle of the bay

Yea people are nuts about getting their reservations in! Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out!
  • Good suggestions above already...but close to the beach in the summer on the Oregon Coast is a tough ticket to get...most are reserved way in advanced.

Maybe try this..............Sea Perch Rv Resort
