Oregon Coastal Parks

I love Nana's and Georgie's....both places have excellent food and drinks. Newport is just loaded with great restaurants....sheesh, no wonder I'm fat.

Have stay at Irelands Rv Park....Great. very reasonable, older park full hookups....clean
quiet, peaceful....they have lighthouse you can climb to watch the sunset.....your rig would be just right there.....great for walking or biking to grocery...This is Gold Beach,Or nice town

IMO Georgie's in Newport has the best clam chowder on the Oregon coast. Order it in the sourdough breadbowl!
They have good food in general and a fantastic view of the coast and the lighthouse. We were there over new years and could see the whales breaching from our table.

MO's was good 25 years ago. It's not that hard to make clam chowder or deep fry fish. For a nice change of pace try Nana's Irish Pub in Newport. If the weather good there's outdoor seating.

Just a heads-up.. the Underseas Garden is no longer, as it is closed now. Also, the best chowder in Newport is not at Mo's....but over on Nye Beach at the Chowder Bowl, plus they have the best bread pudding I've ever tasted there. Mo's just isn't as good as it use to be...not sure why.

Also in Newport is the Yaquina Lighthouse (tours available all day), Rogue Brewery, and the best Halibut Fish & Chips on the coast at the South Beach Fish Market (look it up on YELP). if you are an ELK member, the lodge there has rv spots for a few bucks a night.

Oh, almost forgot. Riley's is actually Ripley's...believe it or not (pun intended)

One of my all-time favorites is owner-operated Secret Camp RV Park at Gold Beach. It's on the inland side of 101 and away from the wind and warmer. Small at only 20 sites, very tidy and super friendly owners. They even get repeat clients from Europe.

If into Thousand Trails, Pacific City and Seaside are great, but stay away from the one in Florence. Horseback riding on the beach at Pacific City is fun.

Consider a quick trip north of the border across the Astoria-Megler Bridge and visit Cape Disappointment State Park in Washington. You won't be disappointed, despite the name. That whole area on the Washington side of the Columbia is where I've seen the most bald eagles.

At Ft Stevens, be sure to hike the trails back to the WWII gun emplacements. A lot of history back there and one most people miss.

As some have already said, Beverly Beach is highly recommended. It's a very in-demand state park, though. You might be able to get in during the week, but weekends are almost always booked. I prefer sites next to the stream and if you can get site B-12, take it just for the view of the sunset at your campsite.
