Oregon, Washington Coastal Bugs

Looking atmy weather app,it shows that most of the rain is going up the Oregon coast and then up the east side of Puget Sound.
I do wish that we had more state parks along our coast,but there is too much privately owned and N.P. ownership of beaches.. We do have only three major rv friendly parks. Cape Disappointment,Grayland and Ocean Beaches. Twin Harbors and Bogachiel are mostly tents and it is really difficult to get into Pacific Beach anytime of the year. All the N.P. cgs are no hookups.
The DW actually has said that she does want to try some dry camping,so as soon as I get the jacks and the gennie starter fixed, we're gonna head for Klaloch or somewhere else we can get the 40' MH into.
Besides who cares about a few bugs, I spent 9 months on a boat in S.E. Alaska and those mosquitoes didn't care about the size of the screening 'cuz they would just rip the screen doors off the hinges anyway.

FYI in case you are looking for nice weather don't expect much until late summer along the coast.

Just a thought...a person can buy a roll of midge/no-see-um proof mesh at Home Depot or Lowes. The wee bugs will get right thru your standard skeeter mesh.

Or...when you asked about 'bugs'...did you mean VW bugs? more of them on the wet coast than most anywhere. Them and vans.

in DC it's...well it's always something.

We were at Beverly Beach last weekend and only saw sun but that is normal. We spend a lot of time on the Oregon coast and normaool it's not a problem. Fort Stevens however can have the skeeters in early summer. Some have the screen tents, we just spray and take a shower more often.

Funny, but true, I'm sure. We will have to buy rain gear when we get North. Living in Az for the last 17 years, we don't even own such things.
We figure if we get sick of rain, we can just head East, or North. Hopefully it doesn't rain every day, but walks on the beach or by a river in the rain beats the heck out of work anyday. Just want out of the brown desert and 90 degree weather in March/ April.

we also retired last year and are looking to move over to a 5th wheel and out of our beloved HTT.
i'm also interested in doing some camp hosting and would love to do some of it in Oregon's wonderful state parks.

I will add that we just spent a quick weekend at Beverly beach SP, and didn't see bug one!!!
We have been in love with Oregon SP since we were tent camping as a young family, then cam an 8' Caveman TC. Now we have the 5er to take us into retirement.
Now it is time to give back, got some more retirement "Training" coming up this summer, a couple months of park hosting. :)

Midges (Klamath Midge - little green bug). They are very small but when they are out there are millions of them.

The only place I have seen them is around Klamath Falls, OR along Klamath lake. They will cover the front of a vehicle in no time.
