But there are record numbers of campers out here. Finding campsites (in the NW) has never been more difficult. Most Forest Service campgrounds now take reservations and the COE insists you make reservations. Even if you show up and there are spaces available, you have to phone the reservation company. My old way of camping, just showing up and not planning ahead, is no longer an option. Takes the spontaneity out of it. OTOH, it's nice to see families out camping rather than cooped up in their houses for the summer.
