We have had the good fortune to be able to winter in Florida the past 11 years. The first 4 years we spent most of our time at Rock Crusher Canyon CG in Crystal River and the past 7 years at Olde Mill Stream CG in Umatilla.As we are getting older we realize we may only be able to enjoy the RV'ing life style for a few more years. Therefore next winter would like to visit a few other Florida campgrounds. We would like to spend a month at each campground beginning in January and then move onto another CG for February and then another in March. Specifically we would like to stay on the east coast or slightly inland from the coast. The campground does not need to offer lots of activities but we do want full hookups.I realize I can spend hours and hours doing research on RV Park Reviews, but I'm looking for some feedback & ideas from you folks.Thanks so very much in advance for reading this posting and I look forward to your campground suggestions.

Plan ahead and visit the Keys. Everyone should try the Keys at least once. It is such an unique environment.

Bill: Florida is a big state and yes there are a lot of different Sites to see, "Dog Folks" is right that you should visit the Keys if you haven't been there. Miami and Key Biscayne also for warmer weather. I have spent time in almost every section on the East and West coast and find that all cities are the same. Lots of traffic on the coast every time you want to go somewhere, that is why we stay put here at OMS in Umatilla and go and visit friends in the other areas for a day or two. I don't think you are missing out on anything exceptional. Good luck in your travels.

Vero Beach / Sebastian area last year. We spent 2 weeks in March at Sunshine Travel, located at I-95 and 512. Nice campground, cement roads, pads, nice pool, laundry good. This yr booked nearby, same general area, at Ft Pierce area for 2 weeks.

It would appear everyone has had an opportunity to view this thread and provide their input. Once again I want thank all of you for taking the time to offer your suggestions. Now I have to do more research before making final plans for 2016.

Our favorite, hands down, has been the SE Orlando/Lake Whippoorwill KOA. Super-nice folks everywhere (staff and campers); beautiful grounds; nice amenities. Feels like a tropical paradise to us (and has a HUGE fenced dog park for pet owners).

I stayed at Williston Crossings RV Resort last winter. It's pretty big and very highly rated. I thought it was a really nice place with lots going on.

Located in the small town of Williston about 15 miles SW of Gainesville.

* Sorry, just noticed you said 'east coast'. I lived in and around Orlando for about 20 years and much prefer the Gulf side.

Alligator Park in Punta Gorda is nice. Its best to reserve ahead for Jan of Feb. Its only a couple of miles to the gulf and the area does not have the heavy traffic that bigger cities have. Check out their website.

Can't help you out. We have concentrated on the Gulf side for the past several years. It has probably been over 15 years since we spend time in the winter on the east side.

If you haven't locked yourself into that side though, I would certainly look at CG's from Venice, Englewood, and down through Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area. Nice weather and not as congested as some parts of Florida. Then if you want to visit Key West during your stay you can jump on the Express out of Ft. Myers. It is a pretty inexpensive ferry and a nice ride.

Riverside RV Park in Arcadia. Actually it's much closer to Port Charlotte than Arcadia. Plenty of activities, nice pools, well run.
