Pahrump NV in October?

Possible 2 week trip in Oct. Any recommendations for RV Park. Like to bicycle, geocache, hike, and of course gamble. Will it still be too hot, etc.
  • We stayed in Pahrump a couple years ago. Weather should be fine, but expect windy days.
I don't even remember where we stayed but it was the first time I was charged extra for electricity and that rather surprised me. Check out Ash Meadows if you have time, I think it was worth the dirt road drive AND of course Death Valley would be great that time of year.
  • We stayed at Lakeside this past June. We really like the casino right next door (for the food). We really liked, it but since it was in the middle of summer, it was hard to spend time outside. I want to try the other campground that was mentioned. We will going back in October. We were driving north on I-15 and were looking for the road to Pahrump right past Baker, but did not see it, and went all the way into Las Vegas. Could those of you who drive north on I-15 could tell me whether you have to actually get off the freeway and into Baker to access that road? Thx.
  • Have stayed, ate and gambled at Lakeside. It is great and reasonable for all. The sites we had have been clean, secure and great.

Google Maps shows only 2 ways to get there off I-15 CA Hwy 127 North out of Baker then right on Hwy 178 or NV Hwy 160 West out of LV.

I'm certain there are some exciting mining roads that might connect to make a more direct route, but you said you wanted to actually ARRIVE in Pahrunp, NV. ;-)
  • Yes, it was 127 I was looking for after leaving Baker and getting on I-15 going north. I kept looking for a sign indicating the exit for 127 or Pahrump, but I did not see one. My wife was also watching the signs. Maybe we both missed the exit. When we go back in October, we will drive slow and make sure we don't miss the sign.
  • It could be a little warm but not hot. Lakeside is a good rv park
