Painting Hills - John Day Fossil Beds - OR
Is there any place to camp and see the Painting Hills of OR. We like to dry camp. Is it worth more than a day trip?

There is a good boondocking spot on the road to Painted Hills. Its on the left, about a mile in next to the creek. There is room for several large Riggs. Its BLM land and there are a few shade trees. We camped there with about 20 other riggs to watch the solar eclipse last year.
