Question for those that have successfully used the PA membership.....
Have you found or felt that you were given a site that might of been less preferred or desirable that might be offered to someone that pays full price? Not saying that parks would do that. The thought just came across my mind though...
To be perfectly honest - I'd be happy with a 'less preferred' site for half-price.
Most commercial RV parks, that I've seen, which are located on frequently traveled routes have a few spots for 1 nighters (or other less than a week folks) near the front of the property/ office. Usually pull-thrus.
And most commercial RV parks want to charge premium prices if you are stopping for just one night. I really hate paying full price for a 12 hour stop where I don't even unhook the TV, connect only electric (almost never water and only sewer if the tanks are full).
Which is why so many folks go to Walmart or other similar places and dry camp at night.
PPA gives me a relatively decent option if I want power many times.
(Another note - we've found that traveling on Monday or Tuesday is the best time of the week for the least stress. We try to avoid traveling on Friday or Saturday. Setting up in most campgrounds and RV parks is more a hassle when we are coming in with the weekend crowd.)
For me - PPA is for traveling, not for destinations. Now, I've gotten some nice discounts at PPA parks when I stayed longer than a few days, because I asked.
