We live just a few short miles from that CG. They have fixed it up pretty nice and its a great park. Some of the sites in the older section are not absolutley perfectly level , but it rates high overall in our book and its a fantastic park.
Also around there and as back ups, there are the COE campgrounds at West Point Lake- I beleive only R. Schaeffer Heard at the dam will be open then (closest to Callaway) . There is also a nice CG at FDR State park in Pine Mountain. You'd be pleased with any of the three.
Also might want to check out the Callaway mansion in nearby LaGrange.
