Leesann,I tried to follow up on my previous reply to the PM,but they stopped it.
According to the reviews,you're gonna be throwing the dice at Mt Hood village rv resort whether or not you're gonna get a good or a clean site.
Yes,Memaloose SP would be a decent alternative and there are a lot of things to do in the Hood River area. Need to get a res way in advance tho.
Columbia River RV park in Portland would add at least 30 minutes to your trip to the mtn,but would put you closer to things in the Portland area.
I haven't stayed there as we usually stay at the Jantzen Beach RV park when we're visiting as the G-GS lives in north Vancouver and my 91 y/o aunt lives just south of downtown Portland. I will stay at Pheasant Ridge in an emergency. No, it's really not a "10" resort as it's too tight,anti-dog,too many rules and you have to unhook your toad at the check-in place and walk back for it after you've parked.
