According to the web site, Furnace creek camp is open. If you are tent camping you might find a spot along the back side in the trees, but maybe you can call and see if there are any vacancies and make a reservation. Be advised they have changed the numbering of the sites so you might want to look at the web site for a new map so you get the right site reserved. We used to go every year between Christmas and new years but always made reservations a couple of months in advance. DV can be busy at the campground at this time but becomes almost empty right after New years. For more info on road conditions go to the web site and click on "Morning Report". Our preferred time to enjoy DV is the first week of March right after daylight savings start, makes for a little longer light time in the evening. Here is the web site for campgrounds in DV.
