In truth. It is not real smart to be that close to the vehicle infront of you. You will hit them in the rear before you can stop, IF they have to stop. It will be your fault. So IF you are smart enough to leave room between you, Others will have room to get in.
And in fact. Following too close is a moving violation.
So drive smart, and safe. Do not tailgate on the highway. It's not smart.
