Cody is a great place to visit, but a lousy place to make your base camp for Yellowstone. If you want to stay outside the park for the conveniences like full hookups, stores, restaurants, cell service, wifi, cable TV etc. your best choices are West Yellowstone and Gardiner.
Knshook, 65 miles, even if they are awesome miles, are still over an hour each way.
