And that only gets you to the East Entrance. Add another 30 minutes to get to the junction on the grand loop, which is the road you need to be on to see the vast majority of the park. Cody is a great place to visit, but a lousy place to make your base camp for Yellowstone. If you want to stay outside the park for the conveniences like full hookups, stores, restaurants, cell service, wifi, cable TV etc. your best choices are West Yellowstone and Gardiner.
