Port San Luis (Avila Beach) RV camping

Has anyone camped at any of the five parking areas of the Port San Luis RV "campground" during January, February, or March?

What was your experience as to availability (it's all FCFS), site choices in each area (including overflow), and general "appeal"?

Thanks for any information, suggestions, and/or reports.

    I have not, but I just went there in July to see if it is a place I wanted to camp. I had been looking at it for a while and finally got a chance to go take a look. I would not stay there. It is not extremely bad, but I think there are a lot of places just up the road that are better. The main problem I had with the place is everyone is really cramped together, and the traffic at that location is crazy for such a small place. If you are looking for a place and haven't made up your mind, check out Jalama Beach

    Has anyone camped at Port San Luis during *any* time of the year, i.e., not just winter/early spring months?
