Right down the road from Monticello is Ash Lawn-Highland, home of James Monroe. Not as impressive maybe as Monticello but worth seeing in its own right.
Mt. Vernon - yes!
In Lancaster PA is Wheatland, home of James Buchanan (not one of our better presidents.....)
In Lynchburg, VA is Poplar Forest. Thomas Jefferson's summer home.
In New York are Hyde Park, home of FDR and Sagamore Hill, home of Teddy Roosevelt.
If you do in fact head out to Rushmore, that opens up many more possibilities, such as Truman's home in Independence, MO.
