private Rv sites

I am not sure I am using the correct term, but am referring to Rv sites owned by individuals in parks/ communities. I am looking for a list of those sites for rent in Florida for next winter. Any ideas where to look or search for this kind of information?

    There are many RV sites for rent in Florida owned by individuals. I've owned several over the years. Not sure why you are limiting yourself to those type of sites but whatever. Around Naples, there is Silver Lakes Golf and RV Resort, Pelican Lakes (Class A), Naples MotorCoach RV Resort, Chrystal Lake RV, Everglades Isle Motorcoach (Everglades City), Outdoor Resorts (Chokoloskee). Around the Stuart area, 3 come to mind immediately - all on Hutchinson Island. They are Nettles Island, Venture III and Holiday Out. I believe there is a fourth - Windmill something or other just south of Holiday Out. Further north is The Great Outdoors near Titusville. There must be several hundred other parks in FL which have gone condo with individual lot ownership. The parks listed above and most, I'd guess, have rental offices and realty offices associated with them. Lot owners who wish to rent often "list" their lots with the rental office which then rents the lot by the day, week, month or season. These rents generally are "market rents". If you go to each park (bulletin board) or know someone in a park, you can usually find an owner that will deal direct splitting the rental commission cost with the renter so both parties net out better.

    Finally, if I google "RV sites for rent Florida" I see a number of websites which purport to have listing of lots for rent by owner. Your signature says "Florida Treasure Coast". Have you checked some of the various parks when you've been down here? That, IMO, is the best way.

    Good to see you got back into RV'ing. Nice to have your years of FT'ing experience once again.

    From my experience these sites are much nicer and much larger.

    They'd also be more expensive because of that. It's just a matter of is the extra space worth it. Bluewater Key (.net and .com) seems to be the most popular owner-rented RV spots in Florida. It's > $100 a night.

    I stayed at a park in Hilton Head that was what the OP is looking for. It was very nice, but at the non-discounted price ($74 a night) I wouldn't be able to do it. Also, the quality of the sites was variable; some owners put a lot more into maintenance than others, but the price for the site was the same. Some of the sites going for $74 a night here backed up to a car wash and you got to listen to the turbo blow dryers spooling up every 2 minutes all day.

    Since then, we've stayed at municipal parks and private parks and although not as nice as Hilton Head, it's half the cost but almost as good.

    What you should be doing is looking for parks that get high marks on rvparkreviews.com or woodalls. Read the reviews and see what the sites are like.
  • Check out Key Largo Kampground, (with a capital K).
    They have them and it is a wonderful place.

  • This is a smaller place and close to many rivers and neat places to visit. Chassa Oaks is the name and it is in Homosassa, Fl! They usually have lots for sale and some that are rented out for months at a time.

  • Most parks that have deeded or leased sites manage a rental pool for temporarily vacant sites for the owners. Reservations, etc., would be handled through the office, just as they are for more conventional locations.
